SCOTUS announces landmark same-sex marriage decision
Earlier today, the Supreme Court announced in a 5-4 decision legalizing same-sex marriage in all 50 states. Justice Kennedy, who was appointed by Republican Reagan in 1988, wrote on behalf of the court stating, "They ask for equal dignity in the eyes of the law. The Constitution grants them that right." Kennedy is often the deciding vote and has authored all four of the gay rights rulings, siding with his 4 left-leaving counterparts.
