New Orleans’ Sporting Extravaganza Garners Nationwide Attention

The Washington Post ran a feature article today highlighting the massive upcoming weekend for New Orleans, both economically and culturally. “I think it’s going to be the biggest weekend we’ve ever seen in the city,” said Pam Randazza, owner of the Black and Gold Sports Shop in Metairie, La. “We’ve just been swamped.” After the BCS Championship and the NFL Playoffs, New Orleans can look forward to the 2012 NCAA Final Four Tournament, the War of 1812 Bicentennial celebration, and the 2013 Super Bowl - not to mention Jazzfest or Mardi Gras. “A friend called and wanted to book a table for 11 Saturday night,” said Ti Marten of Commander’s Palace. “I told him I couldn’t get my mother a four-top, let alone him an 11-top.”
