After getting a DWI in February, the MTV “Catfish” star Sunny Cross will be going to trial in August for the charge. Police watched her follow too closely behind another car and swerve into another lane. After pulling over, she smelled of alcohol and failed a field sobriety test. It brings up a good point on whether or not anyone should submit to a field sobriety test. Once you are out of the car and under the suspicion of driving drunk most of the time you are going to jail. Why would you want to help build the state’s case against you with more evidence? Field sobriety tests are somewhat subjective and not scientific and can be misinterpreted by arresting officers. I think it’s a case by case decision but most of the time it’s probably best to not submit to any tests.
