Driver involved in Loyola student’s death charged with vehicular homicide
Leonard Feller was arrested and charged for driving while intoxicated and vehicular negligent injury after colliding and killing Loyola University student Matthew Chuey early Thursday morning.
Additional charges of vehicular homicide have been added to Feller’s booking after Chuey died from his injuries at Interim LSU Public Hospital. Vehicular homicide convictions carry between 5-30 years and a fine of at least $2,000 but no more than $15,000.
Chuey is being awarded his degree posthumously by the University, needing only one more class to complete his bachelor’s degree.
