Do I Have To Go To Court For A Personal Injury Claim?

Video Transcript

A lot of times, people call me after being involved in a car accident, a boat accident, or a truck accident and say, “I don’t want to sue. I don’t want to go to court.” Well, hopefully, we don’t want to sue either. Ideally, if it’s someone else’s fault that you got injured, their insurance will be willing to pay for your damages.

There are several different types of damages that can be covered, but suing isn’t always the first step. If you get into a car accident and the other party has XYZ insurance, what we do is file a claim. We want that person’s insurance company to pay for your medical treatment, your pain and suffering, and any other damages necessary to make you as whole as possible.

And if they’re unwilling to do that, then yes — we will take them to court. Whether or not you’ll eventually have to appear in court as a witness is a possibility. You may also be required to sit for a deposition or two. But we’ll guide you through that entire process and make it as smooth and stress-free as possible, because you’re the one who has been injured and needs support.

If you’re concerned about legal action after an accident, a go to court attorney in Louisiana can help you understand your options and protect your rights every step of the way.
