Man Faced With 3rd DWI Tries to Report Car Stolen

[caption id="attachment_3873" align="aligncenter" width="600"] Image Source: Tangipahoa Sheriff's Office[/caption] A Tangipahoa man faced with a 3rd DWI, which is a felony in Louisiana, fled the scene of a crash and attempted to report his vehicle stolen. Police found the wrecked vehicle with no one inside in the early morning and identified that it belonged to Thomas Jernigan. Police approached Mr. Jernigan at his home and noticed him acting visibly intoxicated while on the phone with 911 trying to report his vehicle stolen. He was also charged with driving under a suspended license and careless operation.
