Celebrity New Year’s Eve Parties – NYC, Vegas, Miami

If you’re interested in welcoming in 2008 at a New Year’s Eve party hosted by a celebrity, then here’s a list of options to choose from.  Remember, though, that just because the celebrity is hosting and/or performing at the fete does not guarantee that you will see them, much less meet them ohiltons_lax_ad.jpgr get the chance for a chat.  Yes, even at these exorbitant prices.

Lenny Kravitz at the Florida Room in the Delano Hotel is sold out.  The lounge there has Gnarls Barkley and the Florida Room Players performing for $400/ticket.  Includes cocktails and a midnight champagne toast.

Jennifer Hudson at the Setai for $1000/ticket.  She performs.  Includes cocktails, dinner dance, five-course meal, and entrance into the Paradise Club.

Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz host a party at The Shore Club while Eve performs for $300/ticket.

New York City

Mya hosts and performs at the Roseland Ballroom in Times Square for $75/ticket. Cash bar. 

Kid Rock hosts at the Hotel Gansevoort.  Rooftop Table for $350/ticket.  Open Bar.  DJ. 

Vegas

Debbie Reynolds hosts and performss at the South Point Grand Ballroom for $140/ticket.

Dave Navarro hosts at Palms’ Rain Nightclub for $100/ticket.

NOLA’s Birdman Busted: When Can the Cops Search Your Car?

birdman-fastmoney.jpgNOLA native Birdman, aka Bryan Williams, was busted yesterday in Tennessee — along with 16 other people in his RV as it rode along Interstate 81 — for possession of marijuana.

According to press reports, a police officer saw the RV change lanes, forcing a tractor trailer rig into the emergency lane.  The cop pulled the Birdman-mobile over, and smelled marijuana smoke coming from inside the RV.  He asked for permission to search the RV, was given consent, and found a pound of marijuana in a trash can, in the RV’s kitchenette.

He also found a handgun, a magazine for a .45, and an assault rifle.  (This has brought ATF into the case, but there haven’t been any charges on the guns yet.)

Nick Hogan Arrested on Felony Charges in Speed Racing Accident

nick-hulk-hogan.jpgIt was Nick Hogan’s yellow hatchback Toyota Supra against Daniel Jacob’s silver convertible Dodge Viper.  Speed racing was involved in the August pile-up that incapacitated John Graziano ….

As detailed in today’s News Release by the Clearwater Florida Police, Hulk Hogan’s son, Nick Hogan Bollea, turned himself in this morning and was booked on the both felony and misdemeanor charges resulting from the August 26th car crash that left his friend John Graziano seriously incapacitated.   Witnesses have confirmed that Nick Hogan was speed racing with Daniel Jacobs, who’s being charges with reckless driving.  

What’s the law here?  Well, both civil and criminal law come into play in serious car crashes like this one.   There’s jail time to consider, fines, and big civil damages.  Continue Reading »
