Woman arrested for vehicular manslaughter, DWI in cyclist’s death

A St. Rose woman, Darla Gauthreaux, 29, was arrested Thursday night for DWI, vehicular homicide, and other charges following the death of a cyclist. Ms. Gauthreaux was driving on LA636-3 when she hit a 55-year-old male cyclist that died on the scene. She originally fled the scene, but a family member reported the accident to St. John police shortly thereafter. She was being charged with DWI, felony hit and run, vehicular homicide, and other minor charges and was held at the St. John the Baptist jail.
