Tragic Shooting at Dark Knight Premiere Leaves at Least 12 Dead

At a midnight screening of the Dark Knight Rises in Aurora, CO, a masked gunman entered the Century 16 theater, lobbed a tear gas canister, and opened fire on the audience.

Witnesses stated that they first did not realize the gravity of the situation: thinking instead that the event was a stunt planned by the movie theater staff.

At least 12 people are dead with another 38 wounded.

Police have apprehended a 24-year old suspect.
