Traffic Camera Tickets Now Can Be Appealed to Judge

[caption id="attachment_1063" align="aligncenter" width="250"] Photo Courtesy of classcaster.com[/caption] Amid a package of laws that go into effect in the coming months, a new statute makes traffic camera tickets appealable to New Orleans judges. 517 new laws from the most recent legislative session go into effect today including one that will allow ticketed drivers to appeal their traffic camera citations to First and Second city courts in New Orleans. Currently the new law will only apply to drivers who receive their traffic camera tickets in New Orleans. The courts expect to be able to start hearing the appeals in about 6 weeks and are anticipating a $50 fee for the appeals.
