According to authorities, on Monday, June 2, Chris brown was released from a California jail. The popular singer has been incarcerated since March for violating the terms of a court-ordered rehabilitation program.
Brown was charged with misdemeanor assault in October while on probation for assaulting singer and ex-girlfriend Rihanna. The charges were brought against Brown as allegations of an assault surfaced. Brown later admitted that the altercation violated the terms of his probation and he was ordered to remain in jail.
Judge James R. Brandlin sentenced the singer to serve an additional 131 days during his May 9 decision. Initially, the court ruled that Brown would serve a year, but they credited him almost eight months. The credit was granted for Brown’s time served between jail and rehab. He also got credit for good behavior while behind bars.
Now that Brown has been released, he still is expected to complete his community service requirements. Brown is required to complete 1000 hours of service. However, it appears as though he only has around 800 hours remaining.
