Russell Brand Lands Himself in New Orleans’ Central Lockup After Outburst

Russell Brand’s mugshot may be hilarious, but the funnyman probably wasn’t laughing when he turned himself in to NOPD this afternoon after a warrant was issued for his arrest.
Brand threw a paparazzo’s iPhone through an office building window and was charged with one count of simple criminal damage to property. The ex-husband of Katy Perry is currently shooting a film in New Orleans titled Land of God.
Brand was released from Central Lockup in about an hour, after he posted a $5,000 bond. He is also expected to pay a $700 fine to the city for his anger management issues.
Brand tweeted about the incident this morning, saying “Since Steve Jobs died I cannot bear to see anyone use an iPhone irreverently, what I did was a tribute to his memory.”
Rest in peace, indeed.
