Orleans Parish Sheriff’s Deputy Arrested for DWI, Reckless Driving

An Orleans Parish Sheriff’s Department deputy was arrested Saturday morning after a witness shot a video of the deputy passed out at an intersection with the emergency lights on. Deputy Corey Amacker was arrested for DWI and reckless driving and suspended without pay after a video was submitted showing him hunched over the driver’s seat at the Earhart Blvd and Washington Ave intersection. Although Amacker was not on duty at the time, they are conducting an internal investigation into the issue.
