NOPD Officer Booked With DWI/Hit and Run

Posted on May 11, 2011 in DUI/DWI, NOPD

NOPD Officer, Keyalah Bell, who was a witness for the government in the recent Henry Glover civil rights trial in New Orleans, was arrested early Friday morning for leaving the scene of an accident and DWI. After submitting to a breathalyzer test, Officer Bell's BAC was reportedly calculated to be .153 - nearly twice the legal limit for driving. Little information is available at this time as to the specific details of the accident in which Officer Bell was involved other than that she reportedly hit a parked car and traveled 'a distance' before being apprehended. After being released by Traffic Court Judge, Bobby Jones, reports indicate that Officer Bell has been placed on unpaid suspension from the NOPD pending her defense. This report serves to prove that nobody is above the law and that accidents and arrests can happen at anytime to anybody.
