The Mother’s Day second line came to a quick halt after 19 people were injured from stray bullets. A tradition since 2001, the Mother’s Day second line is organized by the Original Big 7 Social Aid and Pleasure Club. A time for generations of families to come out and celebrate was cut short by New Orleans crippling crime rate. This type of crime in New Orleans has become a stain on the city and is bad for our economy and morale. As a criminal defense lawyer in New Orleans I see first hand too much of this unnecessary violence and crime. Let’s come together as a city to make New Orleans a better and fairer place.
