A Metairie man, Steven L. Baxter, was arrested in Jefferson Parish Saturday night after a head-on collision on Metairie Road injured his passenger. Baxter was seen speeding on Metairie Road when his vehicle crossed the median and hit an SUV head-on. The passenger sustained a compound fracture of the arm and was sent to Ochsner hospital. He blew a .209 BAC, over twice the legal limit, and was cited for negligent injuring, DWI, reckless operation, and marijuana possession, and driving on a suspended license. Baxter was released from jail due to overcrowding.
