Mayor Landrieu Wants to Move Orleans Civil District Court

Civil District Court for the Parish of Orleans is far from state of the art. While many Districts have gotten new court houses over recent years, Orleans Parish Civil District Court is still awaiting its makeover. Mayor Landrieu is pushing to have the Court House and City Hall moved to the old Charity Hospital in a vision he calls the Civic Center. The Judges are pushing for a new court house to be built from the ground up in the state land off Duncan Plaza, the former location of the Louisiana Supreme Court. Only time will tell if either of these projects gets the appropriate approval. Read more on the discussion here.
