JPSO says the Clement crashed through the fence along Airport Road and onto the runway then crashed through another fence on the northeast side of the airfield. Motorists phoned 911 after seeing the blue Dodge Challenger crash through the fence and airport personnel approached the vehicle and confronted the driver, which is standard protocol. After crashing through the second fence, the driver fled and was eventually arrested at an auto body shop on Veterans Boulevard. Clement was charged with DWI and hit & run.
