Lohan Back in Court

Posted on Oct 25, 2010 in Celebrity Justice, Drugs

Lindsay Lohan will be back in the court room this week in connection with her failure of a court ordered drug test. She tested positive for cocaine after leaving the UCLA rehabilitation center. The offense can call for as little as thirty days or as much as up to one year of jail time if her probation is revoked completely. However, other influences are at play that aim to see Lindsay in jail for quite a while. The Probation Department is putting pressure on Judge Fox to issue a harsher sentence in order to make an example of the actress. While the Probation Department does exert quite a bit of influence, the final decision is left up to Judge Fox alone. Many complex systems and internal influences affect the outcome of court cases such as this. Even a simple possession charge should be handled by a defense lawyer familiar with these complications who can use his experience to fight for you.
