Tony Thomassie, a former constable in Jefferson Parish, was arrested Wednesday on the West Bank Expressway after crashing into the back of a vehicle making a turn into a grocery store parking lot. The victims of the crash were concerned after he exited the vehicle and notified police. Once police arrived, Thomassie failed the field sobriety test and blew a .267, well beyond the legal limit of .08. The former constable kept repeatedly asking the Jefferson Parish police officers to extend him a professional courtesy during the stop.
