DWI technology will now connect agencies across parish lines

Louisiana is implementing new 6 million dollar DWI technology that will make reporting and information available across parish lines and shorten the amount of time for these agencies in regards to DWI arrests. With this new technology, according to State Police Master Trooper Brooks David, once a suspect blows in the Breathalyzer and it's approved, it will then go straight to the DMV to flag the suspect's license. This entire new system is being funded directly by the state's highway safety commission. In addition to making it easier for the agencies, Trooper Brooks states that it will also help the attorneys as reports will be available to them as soon as possible. The state highway commission will be in charge of training other agencies and those agencies will be in charge of training officers in their own department.
