Thanks to the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission's federal grants, the dates of July 2-6 will have increased patrols to arrest drunk drivers. Last year for the 4th of July, there were 374 accidents, 10 of which were fatal. Of those 10, 7 involved alcohol. The increased patrols are part of the "Drive Sober of Get Pulled Over" campaign for safer roadways.
