Johnson was headed westbound on I-10 at I-610 when he crashed into a large signal truck. A police officer, who was investigating another accident at the time, noticed the crash and walked over. When the officer approached the driver’s vehicle, he noticed blood shot eyes and smelled a strong alcohol smell. The officer asked Johnson to do the field sobriety test, which he failed. When asked to take a Breathalyzer sample, the driver got irate and started cursing at the officer in a threatening manner and was tased. The child injured in the accident was not in a car seat, as required by law. Johnson was charged with 3rd-offense DWI, driving without a license, driving under suspension, reckless driving, approaching an emergency vehicle, not properly restraining a child passenger, driving without proof of insurance, and two warrants from Jefferson Parish. He is still currently in jail. If you or someone you know is arrested for a DWI in the Greater New Orleans area, please give Bloom Legal a call at 504-599-9997 or email us at info@bloomlegal.com.
