Sheri Reuther was driving westbound on I-10 off Transcontinental Drive and crashed leaving her vehicle disabled in the highway’s left lane.
Police found the vehicle and the driver unconscious in the back seat. The officer resulted to breaking the rear window to access the driver fearing for her safety and found a cup containing an unidentified alcoholic drink. Refusing to take a breath test, a warrant was obtained for a blood sample and Reuther was booked in Gretna with DWI, hit and run, aggravated obstruction of a highway and having an open container of alcohol in the vehicle.
