One of the nine suspects in the Bunny Friend park shooting has been identified as Shawn “Shooter” Ruffin, 22. According to nola.com, Ruffin and two other men were inside a 2011 black Ford Explorer that sped away from a DWI checkpoint two days prior to the shooting.
Ruffin gave the officers the registration, but when asked to exit the vehicle, he turned on the ignition and sped away from the checkpoint. It was later revealed the Ford Explorer was listed as stolen.
