Seth Bloom, Orleans Parish School Board Member and Chair of the Orleans Parish School Board's Legal and Legislative Committee, was in the news recently for pushing Orleans Parish School Board attorney Ed Morris on Interim Superintendent Stan Smith's contract. Certain board members have been pushing to remove Mr. Smith in order to replace him with another Interim Superintendent. Seth has instead been a proponent of keeping Mr. Smith in his position in order to focus on the more important task at hand: finding a new, permanent Superintendent for the Orleans Parish School Board. Seth believes that Mr. Smith has performed his duties appropriately and that the unnecessary distraction this debate has provoked is preventing the Orleans Parish School Board from moving forward with the search for a new, permanent Superintendent.
