Aaron Hernandez, the ex-Patriot tight end, is now being charged with 2 counts of 1st degree murder, all while still in jail awaiting trial on the 2013 killing of a semi-pro football player. The grand jury returned the indictments today for the killing of Daniel de Abreu and Safiro Furtado.
Prosecutors claim de Abreu and Furtado were ambushed and shot to death while driving in Boston’s South End after leaving a nightclub and being followed by Hernandez’s Toyota 4Runner. DA Daniel Conley suggests that Hernandez was the triggerman in the shooting deaths of de Abreu and Furtado. In addition to the 1st degree murder charges, he is also being charged with several weapons charges related to the killings.
Hernandez has been a focus since he was arrested for the 1st degree murder charge of killing of semi pro football player Ortiz Lloyd. Lloyd’s gunshot riddled body was found about 1-mile from Hernandez’s home in North Attleboro, MA. the DA Bill McCauley insists Hernandez brought Lloyd to a secluded-wooded area and conducted the execution there.
