Nearly 900 Arrested During Carnival Season in New Orleans
Posted on Mar 6, 2014 in Criminal Defense, Drugs, DUI/DWI, Mardi Gras
During the 2014 Carnival season in New Orleans, nearly 900 people were arrested for a variety of offenses by deputies and officers. Many of the charges were the standard fare of lewd conduct, disturbing the peace, etc, while some bigger arrests were made for state charges including drug arrests and violent crimes.
Mardi Gras time is a big boost for New Orleans tourism. While many tourists are arrested during this time, they should be aware that many of the upcoming court dates will be set for new dates long after they have arrived home. Failure to appear for a court date can result in an added contempt fee and possible warrant. If you or someone you know was arrested during Mardi Gras and need an attorney, please give Bloom Legal a call at 504-599-9997 or email us at email@example.com.
