New Louisiana Law Requires Sex Offenders to Post Info to Facebook
Posted on Jun 25, 2012 in Legislation, Local Issues
A new law that will take effect on August 1 in Louisiana will require convicted sex offenders to post their criminal status to social media profiles.
The law supplements the current requirements that individuals convicted of sex crimes report their status to local organizations, police, schools, and neighborhoods.
It is not currently clear where exactly a sex offender must include their registration status although speculation could yield that such status might be included in the Activities or Interests section of a profile.
