Lee is ranked #4 for Tropical Storms

Posted on Sep 6, 2011 in Personal Injury

Tropical Storm Lee put the city's flood defenses to a major test. New Orleans' 24-pump flood control system successfully processed one inch of rainfall each hour. The Georgia Emergency Management Agency said about 100 homes were damaged in Cherokee County, about 30 miles north of Atlanta. In parts of Tennessee they expected more rain even after they saw new precipitation records. The storm system churned up treacherous waters across the South. Including heavy surf that sent tar balls washing onto Alabama's prime tourist beaches. Lee continues out of the Southeast and into the Northeast drenching New England. After thousands of power outages and up to 30 spawning tornadoes, Lee is now ranked #4 for Tropical Storms. As Lee continues into New York, The National Weather Service in Buffalo has issued a flood watch. The Finger Lakes region expects the heaviest rainfall tomorrow afternoon through Thursday afternoon. The flood watch includes Ontario, Livingston and Wyoming and several other counties.
