NOLA.com reported today that Troy Hebert, the newly appointed head of the state Office of Alcohol and Tobacco Control has announced plans to crack down on underage drinking during Mardi Gras this year. [caption id="attachment_1651" align="alignright" width="300" caption="Photo Courtesy of Nola.com"][/caption] The new plan involves, among other things, meeting with local bar owners (especially those located near parade routes) to gain suggestions as to how to minimize the amount of underage drinkers present in their establishments. The office is expected to double the amount of agents from last year stationed along parade routes monitoring potential underage drinkers.
