Another NOPD Officer Admits Guilt in Danziger Bridge Incident

Posted on Jun 4, 2010 in NOPD

On May 20th, Ignatius Hills submitted his resignation to the New Orleans Police Department, the day before he would be charged on accounts of involvement with the Danziger Bridge shooting that occurred right after Hurricane Katrina blew through the crescent city. Hills admitted to his participation in the cover up of the police shooting at six unarmed civilians on the bridge connecting New Orleans East and Gentilly, killing two and severely wounding the four others. Hills is the fifth officer to plead guilty in the Danziger Bridge incident, furthering the necessary justice for the actions of this group of officers. The others who have admitted guilt in this confrontation include officers Robert Barrios and Michael Hunter, and investigators Jeffery Lehrmann and Michael Lohman.
