Stop JunkMail, TeleMarketers, and Spam (& Congrats to Brit!)

Posted on May 2, 2007 in Legislation, National Issues

Annoying and wasteful, that's the nicest thing you can say about all this stuff.   Junk mail is especially threatening to the environment: just look at some of the facts that the Native Forest Network has accumulated: 44% of all junk mail is thrown in the trash, unopened and unread. Approximately 40% of the solid mass that makes up our landfills is paper and paperboard waste.  By the year 2010, it is predicted to make up about 48%. 100 million trees are ground up each year to produce junk mail. If you want to stop junk mail in your mailbox, those determined telephone marketers that fill your voice mail, and that obnoxious, unwanted e-mail, then there are several web sites with detailed lists -- BloomLegal's already sorted thru them into a Best Of List, below. Oh, and congrats from NOLA to LA native Britney Spears on her successful return to live performing last night in San Diego!  Read the review at MTVNews.com....
