Lindsay Lohan begins Jail time

July 21st, 2010 | Posted in Celebrity Justice, DUI/DWI by bloom | No Comments »

Following a court appearance Tuesday, Lindsay Lohan was taken to a Lynwood, California jail to begin her 90 jail sentence. Sentenced for violating her probation by missing seven alcohol education classes, her 90 days in jail is followed by three months in rehab and increased scrutiny by probation officials. The brief trail was followed by Lohan’s ride in an unmarked police cruiser, followed by news helicopters, to the all women’s jail. Her official stay in the Lynwood jail is expected to be cut short. Due to jail overcrowding and anticipated good behavior, some say she will only serve 2 weeks behind bars. She will spend the next few weeks in an isolation unit that has the housed the likes of Paris Hilton and Michelle Rodriguez.

Lindsay Lohan and How Not to Rid Yourself of a DUI Charge

July 12th, 2010 | Posted in Celebrity Justice, DUI/DWI by bloom | No Comments »

DUI/DWI’s can haunt you for a long time. Take Lindsey Lohan for
example. After 2 arrests in as many months for driving under the
influence in 2007, the actress was sentenced to, among other things, 3
years probation and rehab and treatment classes. After missing
several required classes, her probation was extended for an additional
year starting in October 2009. After missing a scheduled court DUI
progress report hearing in May 2010, and after missing more required
classes, Ms. Lohan was recently sentenced to 90 days in jail and an
additional 3 months of rehab. Considering that her 3 years of
probation would be up at the end of August 2010, it is important to
note that following court orders is always the best policy.

When it comes to DUI/DWI’s, the best idea is to never get behind the
wheel while you are under the influence. However, should you be
arrested, getting an attorney to handle your case properly, along with
not repeating actions, can save you lots of time and money. Further,
having an attorney to make sure you follow any court sanctions is in
your best interests. A simple DUI/DWI can, in most cases, be
relatively quick to deal with. Yet continued disregard for the legal
system, like the actions of Ms. Lohan, can impact your life for years
to come.

Orlando Bloom, Lindsay Lohan, Britney Spears: Hit & Runs

October 17th, 2007 | Posted in Celebrity Justice, Personal Injury, Traffic by bloom | No Comments »

lohan_arrest2_070724_ms.jpgOrlando Bloom is reportedly being investigated by Los Angeles authorities for a hit and run last Friday night. Driving a friend’s car, Orlando had a car crash that left his friend (riding in the front passenger seat) with a fractured neck. Paparazzi recorded Orlando walking away from the scene, and then walking back, and later asking someone to call 911.

Lindsay Lohan’s out of rehab, but she still has to face hit and run charges stemming from her collision with a tree last Memorial Day. Lindsay was also charged with DUI – and cocaine was allegedly discovered in the car, as well. Lindsay was filmed running from the scene by paparazzi ….

Britney Spears was charged with hit and run on Monday, after she bumped her convertible Mercedes into another vehicle while she was parking the car. Paparazzi caught the entire episode — including Britney checking her car for damage, but not the victim’s, before going on her merry way — on video.

Okay, what’s up with these hit and run charges – and who should be most worried? Continue Reading »

Lindsay Lohan Is Going to Jail says NOLA Attorney

July 25th, 2007 | Posted in Celebrity Justice by bloom | No Comments »

lohan_arrest2_070724_ms.jpgLindsay Lohan is stupid or crazy and she’s going to jail.  Think about it:  four days after turning herself into authorities for her Memorial Day crash, and getting officially charged with DUI, she’s busted again for (1) suspicion of driving under the influence; (2) driving while her license is suspended; (3) possession of a controlled substance (cocaine); and (4) bringing contraband into a custody facility.   You know the story

Then, LiLo gets released on bail, gets thrown into another rehab facility (you can bet that her attorney insisted upon this), and e-mails Billy Bush of Access Hollywood to report that she’s “innocent” and wants everyone to “respect her privacy.” Innocent? Right.

Meanwhile, her dad is busy making money doing TV interviews and her mom is not rushing to help – compare this to Kathy Hilton – and her pals are telling the media that they are afraid Lindsay Lohan may harm herself.

Harm herself?  What do you think she’s been doing for months now? The Washington Post has compiled a nice timeline of LiLo’s self-destruction.

Will she do jail time? Yes, here’s why.

Paris Hilton, Britney Spears, LiLo – What’s A Reputation, Anyway?

June 24th, 2007 | Posted in Celebrity Justice by bloom | No Comments »

britney_spears2.jpgParis Hilton is finishing her jail time: her first interview out of the clink will be on Wednesday with Larry King.   Paris, as you’ll recall, skyrocketed to big time fame with the release of a sex video on the internet.  For all things Paris, check out TheHiltonFiles.

Lindsay Lohan announced last Thursday that she is extending her stay in rehab.   Meanwhile, MTV reports that American Apparel is selling hoodies like the one Lindsay was wearing, passed out in the front seat of her car, by using the paparrazi photo we’ve all seen with zonked Lohan’s mouth hanging open.   Get one for $40.00.

Britney Spears’ album has been shelved for now; fans are being told to wait until 2008Photos are still appearing of Britney seriously unclothed, and rumors continue of her heavy drinking.

Do any of these three have any reputation left to damage under the law?

Lindsay Lohan v Paris Hilton: A Lawyer Compares the 2

May 30th, 2007 | Posted in Celebrity Justice by bloom | No Comments »

lindsay_lohan915_461f527247fce-t.jpgBy now, you’ve probably seen Lindsay Lohan passed out in a car this past Sunday night, after being rushed to the hospital on Saturday for minor injuries when she ran her car into a telephone pole.

And, you’ve probably chuckled at last week’s photos of Paris Hilton carrying a Bible and the book The Power of Now.

Paris is already going to jail.

From reports that Lindsay’s lawyer escorted her back to rehab admist rumors circulating that a “usuable amount” of cocaine had been found in Lindsay Lohan’s car as well as gossip that she’d been drinking over the holiday – well, it’s a big hint to criminal defense attorneys that Lindsay‘s attorneys are concerned about the possibility of jail time.  Lindsay‘s arrest on Saturday was for suspicion of driving under the influence,  what happens on the cocaine discovery is an open question right now.

What does this mean to you?  Who’s in the worst position right now – Paris or Lindsay?

MySpace Lawsuits: Paris, Lindsay, Teachers, Principals, and You

April 25th, 2007 | Posted in Celebrity Justice, Internet/Technology by bloom | No Comments »

lindsay_lohan915_461f527247fce-t.jpg

It’s safe to assume that anyone reading this post knows MySpace.  For those few grandmas and coma victims who don’t, MySpace (in 25 words or less) is a social-networking web site – ”a place for friends” — where you can share blogs, pix, music, videos, and personal info with anyone, anywhere in the world.  MySpace is the 5th most popular website of all sites, regardless of language.  And, it’s growing: every day the site gets bigger.

For example, the buzz is that later today, Mark Burnett (the Survivor guy) will announce a new reality TV/Internet collaboration, where anyone wishing to run for president in 2008 can post a video on MySpace.  Anyone.  Of course, the 100,000,000+ MySpace users can then discuss the video candidates amongst themselves, and all of this criss-crosses into the reality series.

Sounds like a great use of the web, right?  Just like the news stories of people seeking to adopt babies via MySpace,  or MySpace’s Are You The Next John Woo?  contest.   Before you say yes, let’s check with Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, and some guy in Chattanooga.  Continue Reading »
