Former DA Walter Reed’s court date moved to April pending new charges

[caption id="attachment_5872" align="alignnone" width="300"] Photo courtesy of The New Orleans Advocate[/caption] Former St Tammany Parish District Attorney, Walter Reed, will have his trial for corruption charges moved to April pending new charges. They will be adding another charge of wire-fraud to bring the total number of counts against him to 19. Originally scheduled to have the trial on January 11, 2016, the trial has now been postponed to April 18, 2016 to add the additional charge. This new charge stems from a $25,000 donation made from his campaign fund to the Faith Tabernacle Church, which is suspected to actually be a referral for a personal injury case that the pastor of the church had steered to Reed. Both Walter Reed and his son had their request to dismiss the charges denied.
