New rules for Mardi Gras parades, helpful hints

Posted on Feb 3, 2015 in Local Issues, Mardi Gras

As of 2015, there are new rules involving parades. Please be aware of these rules prior to heading out for a parade, as you could be ticketed for non-compliance. A few of the new rules are listed below:
1. No ladders or other personal effects, such as a grill, is allowed within 6 feet of the curb.
2. Parking on both sides of St. Charles and Napoleon is forbidden. Previously, it was only the parade side, but has changed this past year.
3. There is no roping off or tents, tarps, etc. allowed on either the neutral ground or sidewalk.
4. Public toilets are not allowed on any public property.
