A news conference that was originally scheduled to discuss an expanded partnership between the state and local ATC offices was usurped this morning by news that Mayor Mitch Landrieu’s 19-year-old son was arrested last night for DWI.

Currently, little is known about where the Mayor’s son was drinking and whether or not it was at a home or a bar.

Reports indicate that he was arrested last night near the intersection of Zimple and Broadway (conspicuously close to a well-known college drinking establishment) after allegedly hitting two parked cars.

It remains unclear whether the City Attorney who is usually tasked with prosecuting such offenses will have to recuse himself given that the Mayor is effectively his employer.
