Terrytown Man Arrested for Shoving Girlfriend from Car

Posted on Sep 6, 2011 in Local Issues, NOPD

Harahan police reportedly arrested and charged 49 year old Terrytown resident, Thomas Clark Jr. with second degree battery after he allegedly shoved his girlfriend from a moving car. Police responded to 911 calls from witnesses who watched Clark beat the victim in a parking lot on Jefferson Highway shortly before shoving her from the car while driving at approximately 10 mph. The victim reportedly suffered a head injury and possible broken bones although her exact injuries are unknown at this time. Clark was booked earlier today and is being held on a $7,500 bond. While this type of behavior is never excusable, domestic violence comes in varying degrees of severity and can often pose serious problems in a relationship. Unfortunately, police do not always perform their duties properly in responding to domestic violence calls and have been known to accidentally arrest the wrong party or to charge individuals when the victims would prefer to refrain from having them do so. If you or someone you know have been arrested for or are a victim of domestic violence, call Bloom Legal at 504-599-9997 for a case evaluation to discuss your options.
