Boy Overdoses Methadone from a Dumpster

Posted on Jun 1, 2011 in Drugs

Richard Newkirk, a 32 year old resident of Ormond Beach Florida, is being charged with supplying a controlled substance to a person less than 18 years old and manslaughter after 14 year old Bryce Parson took a lethal dose of methadone. He then brought the boys to his apartment where he consolidated the drug from each bottle and shared it with the teens. The two boys eventually passed out, and Parson died sometime in the night. The next morning Newkirk awoke to find that the boy had been dead for some time. The Ormond Beach police are currently waiting on a toxicology report to find if Parson had methadone in his system.
