One more thing, if the City has a stay until the appeal is decided, Everyone who received a bogus citation should have one as well. They shouldn't have to pay for an illegally issued citations unless the court reverses Judge Irons' decision making them legal, including the four she dismissed from the lawsuit. No we just keep getting threats. Sorry guys/gals, just fed up with a system that bullies people and takes their money with no regard what's legal or to Due Process. The Mayor wants to clean up his Police Department, yet, he pushes and backs threatening people over illegally issued citations just to meet his budget. Hypocrisy? Thanks for giving us a place to vent on your site.

Blows my mind that a Judge rules, confirmed by LA Supreme Court, that a Department is not authorized to issue citations or collect money, yet, the citations issued by that unauthorized department are valid citations and they can demand the money. Wow! The four citations, Law Suit, that Judge Irons tossed out because that were illegally issued were all by the same department, Department of Public Works. How in the world can those be illegal, but the rest are OK and have to be paid? If it's illegal it's illegal. Also, per one official, if you pay, you give up the right to appeal: however, if you don't, we'll injure your credit and/or boot/tow your vehicle without giving you a method to resolve the issue. I guess in New Orleans it's anything to make the budget goes, huh?

The tickets are expected to still be valid given that the Court of Appeals upheld an emergency stay against the ruling as requested by the City Attorney for that period.

Since the City charter specifically states that any traffic violation has to be issued by the NOPD and the city council rushed to change ownership of these cameras from Public work to NOPD. are these tickets prior to 11/3/10 valid?
