Lindsay Lohan is stupid or crazy and she’s going to jail. Think about it: four days after turning herself into authorities for her Memorial Day crash, and getting officially charged with DUI, she’s busted again for (1) suspicion of driving under the influence; (2) driving while her license is suspended; (3) possession of a controlled substance (cocaine); and (4) bringing contraband into a custody facility. You know the story.
Then, LiLo gets released on bail, gets thrown into another rehab facility (you can bet that her attorney insisted upon this), and e-mails Billy Bush of Access Hollywood to report that she’s “innocent” and wants everyone to “respect her privacy.” Innocent? Right.
Meanwhile, her dad is busy making money doing TV interviews and her mom is not rushing to help – compare this to Kathy Hilton – and her pals are telling the media that they are afraid Lindsay Lohan may harm herself.
Harm herself? What do you think she’s been doing for months now? The Washington Post has compiled a nice timeline of LiLo’s self-destruction.
Will she do jail time? Yes, here’s why.

Today, Security Evaluators is telling everyone how the IPhone can be hacked because they’ve done it. Seems all your personal information can be accessed through the IPhone’s Safari web browser, letting the hacker take total control of the IPhone – getting all your personal information, too. IPhone users: beware of WiFi!!!
Makes HackthePhone’s news that Hack has successfully used a Cingular SIM in an IPhone less of a wow, somehow. What’s free service with this big hacking problem?
Curious, though, how the news that the IPhone could be hacked at any WiFi spot came on the heels of how to circumvent the standard IPhone contract …..
Meanwhile, back at the ranch, Castleberry Food Company recalled every single product produced in its Georgia plant over the past 2 years because of a botulism scare. Lots of canned chili and beef stew, and yes: more pet food products. Check out the full product list here – it includes such faves as Austex’s Beef Stew and Natural Balance canned food for dogs.
Scariest part of this whole thing? Castleberry is advising that you remove these products from your homes by putting them inside TWO plastic bags. Double bagging sounds pretty serious, huh?

Several BitTorrent sites claim to have Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows online. Some are offering juicy tidbits; others, the entire book (like PirateBay).
Someone has taken the time to take photos of each and every page, posting images of the text online – along with a part of his hand …. Someone else has taken the time to read the images, and then type them out, in a version also available at PirateBay. There’s a veritable smorgesborg of Deathly Hallows at PirateBay today.
Spoilers can be found at Zendrul (synopsis) and Insecure while SpoilerBoy’s site has been taken down. Add to this that the spoilers don’t agree – what happened to Ron, for example, differs from site to site. Some of this stuff is fake.

Viacom has sued Google for $1,000,000,000.00 (yep, a billion dollars) for copyright infringement because YouTube has stuff on it from shows Viacom owns. Google says No Problemo: they’re complying with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act. What’s at stake? Stuff like this:
More Cowbell – Will Ferrell, Saturday Night Live (the real, unedited version)
David Letterman – Diet Coke and Mentos
WWE Superstar Mr. Kennedy Discusses Chris Benoit on FOX News
Hilary Duff Performing on So You Think You Can Dance 7/12/07

Chris Benoit’s doctor and Anna Nicole’s psychiatrist both claim to have been close friends with their deceased celebrity patients. Criminal investigations are now underway to determine if these ”good pals” were also to blame for their deaths.
If the doctors’ actions did contribute to the deaths, then expect to have civil suits filed, as well. Dannielynn’s guardian (i.e., Larry Burkhead) can sue for wrongful death based upon medical malpractice. There’s a twist in the Benoit case: state wrongful death statutes list who can sue for the wrongful death of another, and usually it’s limited to immediate family. Georgia law will decide if any Benoit relatives can legally seek civil remedies.
I predict civil suits will be filed. Why?
Last week, Chris Benoit’s doctor was indicted by a federal grand jury for illegal distribution of prescription drugs - including Xanex(alprazolam), Percocet (oxicodone), Adderal (amphetamine), and Lorcet(hydrocodone). It’s a seven-count criminal indictment, involving seven prescriptions written to two patients. It doesn’t include his patient, 2004 WWE champion Chris “The Canadian Crippler” Benoit. When Chris Benoit’s toxicology reports get in, new charges may well be added.
Meanwhile, California authorities are investigating two of Anna Nicole Smith’s doctors. The California Department of Justice is reportedly investigating her psychiatrist, specifically, for prescribing methadone to an 8-month pregnant Anna Nicole, as well as prescribing (click to see the dr’s fax) Dilaudid, Lorazepam, Soma, Delmane, Methadone, and Prexige shortly after Daniel’s death.

TMZ.COM has pointed out that Paris Hilton had to serve jail time, while Scooter Libby didn’t … and their post includes surveys showing that the American public believes both should have done their time. Over at Kavips, the comparison between Paris Hilton and Mr. Libby is also being made, with its big question being “if Libby got pardoned, why didn’t Paris?” FreeRepublic is throwing Li’l Kim into the mix: what about her jailtime (10 months, a $50,000 fine, and probation till 2009)?
Bill Totten points out that there’s a lot of humor to be found in the fact that Paris Hilton has done more time than Scooter Libby. For the more serious sorts, The Foxhole has one perspective, JoSwift has the other.
So, what’s a pardon anyway - who gives ‘em, when, and why? If you’re in trouble, can you get one too?

Larry Burkhead already filed a lawsuit against Debra Opri; on June 8, he took his fight to a totally different venue: Burkhead filed a formal complaint against attorney Debra Opri with the State Bar of California. In it, Burkhead claims his former attorney ”misappropriated” money (big six figure money) that Larry was paid for a TV deal.
Why did Larry Burkhead bother to complain to the California Bar? Especially when he’s already filed a lawsuit about the same exact thing? And, when should you consider filing a complaint against your attorney?
